Resumen del proyecto:

ISSNET's key objective is to carry out activities advancing citizens' access to, understanding and use of scientific information, knowledge and expertise, in a demand driven way by science shops. ISSNET activities are essential for set up and maintenance of a science shop network. It is a key component for implementing Action 21 (Science and SocietyAction Plan). It will be a network of excellence in community-based research. It will document and disseminate experiences and good practises through mentoring, training, staff exchanges, quality management, public-domain journal, database, and conference. It will build on and complement national activities and will offer toolkits for new initiatives of advancing public access to science in areas and countries that have not yet implemented demand driven type of activities. Website, conferences and magazine will be forums for citizens and their representatives to express their research needs.
